Mohit Lalvani couldn’t find a good shampoo and conditioner for his lovely puppy Zac who had sensitive skin. Veteran entrepreneur Lalwani has harnessed his three decades of personal care and pharmaceutical expertise, leading him to formulate a non-irritating, gentle, pH-balanced shampoo for his puppies.

Thanks to this success, he decided to build a brand that would be a catalyst for solving such problems for other pets and pet parents.

He started Captain Zack, a pet health brand, and has grown into a comprehensive pet care brand that specializes in creating bad, pH balanced, chemical free, safe and ISO certified products. It is the 1st brand in India to have veterinary products licensed to ensure that pets are happy and healthy. The brand is said to be on track to capture 10 per cent of the market share next year in this segment.

Moreover, the Indian pet grooming products market is being supported by the growth of the pet food market in the country, which was valued at around Rs 2,707 crore last year, according to industry reports. The pet food market in India is also expected to rise in the forecast period from 2021 to 2026 at a compound annual growth rate of 12.2 percent.
