The ACANA® Pet Food Team Helps Transport More Than 30 Rescue Dogs to New York City to Find Loving Homes

Muddy Paws Rescue is a foster-based organization that brings dogs from their shelter partners and puts them in nursing homes for an average of two weeks. During this time, pets can relieve stress and live at their best, allowing the organization to get to know them so they can establish a strong match with a loving family.

This care is part of the ACANA® Pet Food Team Forever Project, an initiative created to support the rescue of pet parents and the introduction of a new food developed by them, ACANA Adopted Dog Rescue Care.

The ACANA® Pet Food team created Project Forever because they recognized the need for a program that helps ensure successful pet adoption. A recent survey by the ACANA Pet Food Team found that 54% of people who adopted rescue dogs did not anticipate how stressful their new dog would be while adjusting to their new home. This program gives new parents the best possible start with ACANA’s premium pet food, plus many resources, including training, behavioral advice, and more. Because at the end of the day, it’s all worth it – the same survey found that four out of five people couldn’t imagine life without their little ones.

“We are grateful to ACANA Pet Food for sponsoring this transfer and we are excited to be a part of Project Forever,” he said. Rachel Ziering, the founding CEO of Muddy Paws Rescue. “Relocation is a major part of our business and takes a lot of time, effort and money. Now each of the 30 puppies arriving this weekend will be able to get a second chance to find a home thanks to the ACANA Pet Food Support Team!”

Project Forever also includes a collaboration with the famous Peloton trainer and passionate “Mother of Dogs” Jess Sims. As part of the post, Sims gave her advice on how to establish a routine after rescuing a new dog and how to incorporate the activity into their lives. She even hosted a live class August 25 Which focused on how pet owners build a strong bond with their dogs.

Sims also rescued her two dogs – Sienna Grace and Shiloh – from Moody Bowes Rescue.

“I am delighted to be collaborating with the pet food team at ACANA, to support Muddy Paws Rescue, an organization that means a lot to me, and to highlight the importance of pet rescue,” he said. Jess Sims. “While Sienna has technically rescued Grace and Shiloh, they have really saved me, and there are so many adorable pets waiting to be put into their forever home.”

Muddy Paws Rescue is a partner in Best Friends Animal Society®, an organization that works with more than 3,300 animal care and shelter partners nationwide. Project Forever also includes an official multi-year pet food sponsorship with the Best Friends Animal Association.
