Wichita, Kansas (KSNW) – Operation Holiday, the region’s largest vacation assistance program, is preparing to assist thousands of Kansans this year.
Holiday Process applications are accepted through Tuesday, November 30. This project has been running for 60 years, and this year the staff of HumanKind Ministries hope to help thousands of Wichitans.
Last year they helped 17,000 people within one week. People were able to pick up clothes, winter jackets, food, toys, and animal supplies during the giveaway. Greer Horning, associate development director at Operation Holiday says they’ve already seen thousands of applications this week and expect to see many more before the November 30 deadline.
“It’s the region’s largest vacation assistance program offering everything from non-perishable foods, grocery gift cards, baby coats, blankets, hats, gloves, scarves, pet food, and pet toys. Plus, we partner with Toys for Tots to provide toys for children of all ages. Between 0 and 14 years old, then we have gifts for teens to give to people who are in the 15-18 range.”
If you would like to help the organization and donate clothing, food, or pet supplies, you can visit their website. People can apply to receive donations until Tuesday, November 30.
