DoorDash offers fast delivery for four independent pet retailers

NEW YORK – Independent Pet Partners (IPP), which owns four independent pet retailers operating in the United States, has announced a partnership with DoorDash to enhance on-demand pet product delivery services.

Pet owners who shop at Chuck & Don’s, Loyal Companion, Kriser’s, and Natural Paws stores can now receive delivery in less than an hour using the DoorDash app.

“Pet parents can now purchase our highly curated collection of all-natural pet foods and supplies, as well as our exclusive Roosevelt brand, in another channel for ultimate convenience,” said Tricia Nichols, IPP Marketing Director. “It’s just another way that it’s easy for customers to help their pets live their best lives through pet wellness – anytime, anywhere. We’re excited to advance our multi-channel consumer-centric strategy with expanded same-day delivery options on DoorDash. “

The partnership covers all 160 sites owned by the IPP. Natural and processed pet foods are available from the brands, as well as toys, supplies, and accessories for delivery via DoorDash.

“Consumers crave convenience and speed when it comes to delivering their favorite on-demand products, and we’ve seen this extend to also essential pet supplies,” said Shana Prive, Vice President of Strategic Partnerships and Business Development at DoorDash. “We’re excited to partner with independent pet partners to provide pet parents with on-demand access to the pet health and wellness items they need right in the DoorDash app.”

This partnership will help independent IPP stores maintain their competitive edge in the increasingly omnichannel retail space. Large pet retailers — including PetSmart and Petco — have also taken the leap and engaged in last-mile delivery services like DoorDash to enhance direct-to-consumer calling capabilities.

Nearly one year ago in December 2020, IPP announced a partnership with Uber Direct to offer same-day delivery to customers of pet owners across its four specialty pet stores.
