The lucky cats are free again after spending a frigid night stuck in a swamp cooler in Cheyenne.
City spokesperson Michael Skinner says Animal Control received a call about the cat around 2 p.m. Thursday.
“The whistleblower stated that they heard meowing throughout the night but were unable to locate the cat until this morning,” Skinner said in a press release.
“When animal control and backup officers arrived at the scene, they were able to remove the fan and release the cat,” Skinner added. “Fortunately, the cat was safe and sound.”
With temperatures dropping to minuses, Animal Control reminds pet owners to ensure they provide a safe and proper shelter for their furry friends.
Those who see a pet left out in the cold can report this by calling Animal Control at (307) 637-6206.
