Pet Brands Products and Aldi Grocery Stores have pulled two pet products. Both the Pure Being Cat Advent Calendars and the Pure Being Dog Advent Calendars were called by the companies in December. However, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) shared the recalls on January 4, exposing the problem to a wider audience.
The recall was triggered because the rewards on the calendar present a potential pet choking hazard. Since it’s an advent calendar, many pet owners may already be passing through the crate. Though, this may not be the case for all pet owners. There are no specific share codes or “best by” dates to search for. All chest versions are part of the recall process.
Calendars were primarily sold on Aldi websites. Despite this, a Google search shows that it may, at some point, also be available through Amazon.
In a statement issued with the recall, Aldi said it “takes the safety and security of the products it sells very seriously. If customers have a product(s) affected by this voluntary return, they must immediately dispose of it or return it to their local store for a full refund.” The FDA recall page has photos and more details, including contact information for pet brand products if you have more questions.
