With great engineering, the devil is in the details. Every day, engineers face a harsh reality – disasters can strike anywhere, anytime. In Engineering Disasters, experts investigate the most unusual – and sometimes deadly – engineering disasters around the world, from bridge collapses to blasts to sinkholes and beyond. This season in Texas, a giant refinery exploded with catastrophic consequences. In Italy, tragedy unfolds with a historic bridge destroyed in seconds, and in Arizona, a railroad inferno smashes a vital river crossing. With extraordinary access to eyewitnesses, expert architects and structural design teams, Engineering Disasters analyze how critical faults in these buildings and more were not discovered, and how engineers are working to ensure the safety of future structures.

Every year, civilians from across the country and around the world set out on their own backspace race – using nothing but audacity, determination, and self-learning skills to create their own rockets and spacesuits. Homemade ASTRONAUTS follows the journey of three groups of dreamers paving their own paths, each with a different approach to space travel. The four-episode series, filmed over two and a half years, documents the rarely seen world of homemade space travelers and the extreme lengths it takes for these teams to reach their goals.
